Nineteen stations on the Mumbai suburban rail network have been provided with Wi-Fi facility on the Premises.

Commuters can soon use WiFi at Badlapur, Bhayander, Mulund, Dombivili, Vandala Road, Vasai and Virar.

Twenty-four railway stations in Maharashtra have been commissioned with Wi-Fi, of which 19 are from the city.

“The first Wi-Fi enabled station in the country was Mumbai Central on the Western Railway. As the railway minister understands the demands of the working class commuting on local trains, suburban network was given priority,” said a railway official.

Currently 126 stations on the Indian Railways have been equipped with Wi-Fi by RailTel along with Google. The work on 191 stations in the Indian Railways is going on.
